Ananasu Hannina Gojju - Pineapple Gojju

  • 1 canned crushed pineapple or Fresh pineapple
  • Turmeric powder     1/4 tbspn
  • A small piece jaggery
  • Salt to taste
  • Mustard seeds     1/2 tbspn
  • Cumin seed (jeera ) 1/2 tbspn
  • Oil for Frying

For Masala:

  • Red chillies (long)  5to 6
  • Sesame seeds (ellu )        1 tbsp
  • Urad dal                         1 tbsp
  • Chana dal  (kadle bele)  1 tbsp
  • Tamarind  juice              1 tbsp
  • Green chillies                 2
  • Grated  coconut           1/2 cup
           
Method:
In a tawa fry sesame seeds, urad dal and chana dal, redchillies one by one till they all turn roast.
Grind the fried ingredients with coconut and tamarind juice to a smooth paste.
In the meantime, Heat oil in a vessel, then put mustard seeds, and allow to mustard seeds to pop. and Add cumin seeds.let it fry till golden brown. Then put the pineapple to it and fry the pine apple for 15 minutes approximately.then add turmeric powder.  Later on. add the masala to  pine apple.and add jaggery.Then
 add water according how much you want the gravy thick. and cook further 10 minutes. Add salt according to taste. After completely cooked remove from the heat. put it in the serving bowl. This goes well as a side dish with chapatis or rice.
