Bangude Meenina Saaru - Mackrell Fish Curry




Ingredients:

Bangude(Mackrel) (medium sized)     6nos
Chopped Onion      1
Chopped Greenchilli  3-4
Chopped Ginger small piece
Coconut Oil 2tbspn
For Masala:

Grated Coconut    1 cup
Red chilli (both long and short)  10  to 15
Corriander seeds                      11/2 tbspn
Cumin Seeds                             1 tbspn
Turmeric                                   1/4 tbspn
Black Pepper                            1 tbspn
Pinch of fenugreek seeds (methi)
Pinch of oama (Ajwain)
Garlic   3 to 4 Flakes
Tamarind Big lemon sized

Method :     
Cut and clean the fish and keep aside.
In a tawa, add little oil, then add redchillies, fenugreekseeds fry tilll light brown. then add corriander seeds, cumin seeds, Ajwain (oama ) fry  till golden brown. Let it cool all these ingredients. Then grind it along with grated coconut, garlic , tamarind  and turmeric, make fine paste.

In a Kadai heat 1 tbspn oil, add chopped onion fry for a minute , then add a chopped ginger.then add masala paste and add 1 cup of water and make a thick gravy and boil  then add fish and cook for few minutes. Add salt according to taste. Serve it with rice.
