Etti Kabab( Prawn Kabab)

Ingredients:

Shrimps  500gm
Yoghurt 4 tbsp
Ginger and Garlic paste  tbsp
Lemon juice 5 tbsp
Cumin seeds 1/2 tbsp
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
Garam masala 1/4 tbsp
Chilli powder 1/4 tbsp
Butter 50 gm

Method:
  1. peel and wash the shrimps and keep aside.
  2. Mix the yoghurt garlic and ginger paste, lemon juice, salt black pepper powder, garam masala and chilli powder.
  3. Melt the butter in a pan and add the prepared mixed masala in it and cook till the raw smelll goes away.
  4. Allow the marinade to cool and add prawns to it and allow to stand for 30 minutes
  5. skewer the prawn and cook over charcoal fire till light golden brown and cooked.
Serve hot with naan and green salad.

Golden Fried Shrimp (In Kannada Shrimp means Sigdi and in Manglorean Bashe Tulu is Etti)

SHRIMP

Shrimp is high in calcium, iodine and protein but low in food energy.
A traditional dish, fried shrimp requires little effort to prepare.


Ingredients:

Shrimp 16pcs
Garlic 4- 6 cloves
Lemon juice 1 tbsp
Light soy sauce 1\2 tsp
White pepper powder 1\3 tsp
Salt to taste
Refined flour 3\4 cup
Corn flour 1\2 cup
Baking powder 1\4 tsp
Oil to deep fry
Water

Method:

  1. Wash and remove the shell of the shrimp and leave the tail on.
  2. Make small slits on the inside to make the shrimp straight.
  3. make a paste  of garlic, lemonjuice, soy sauce, white pepper powder and salt.
  4. Apply this marinade on shrimps and refrigerate for 2 hours.
  5. Sift together flour, cornflour and baking powderand water to make smooth batter.
  6. Heat oil in a wok, dip the shrimps in batter by holding the tail and deep fry over medium heat for 2-3 minutes till crisp and golden brown in colour.
  7. Remove and drain into absorbent paper and serve hot with choice of sauce and salad greens.
